This site was born to document the journey of becoming an Ironman. It all started October 2002 at the start of training for my very first Ironman. Now it’s 2007 and I’m training for my 5th Ironman Canada event. To say the least, it has become an addiction – it also keeps me grounded and out of trouble.
Immediately after I announced that I had acquired a slot for the 2003 Ironman held in Canada… Team ButterKup was formed. The idea grew from being a small group of friends with an inside joke, to a medium for me to communicate the reasons why I’m doing this, the struggles during the journey, and to do continued fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
